When down at the NSW Convention. I had the opportunity to check out the pilot model for the PCX wagons being produced by Joe. Which look very nice.

So on coming home a bit of a search uncovered the following pictures of the wagons that may help with some of the variations through their usage.

                                This is one of my favorite shots .I remember thinking at the time to
                                get the Fielders Fresh Bread sign in the backround to make it a
                                historical shot.And its only taken 26 years for it to pay off !
                                The PCX code is still visible under the yellow signage.
                                But i didnt go around the other side for a picture .How lazy is that !
                                Or as Nick would say hard work pays off in the
                                future,Laziness pays off right now.

CONVENTION

Just a quick little post.
To show some bits I have been working on for the Convention this weekend at Loftus.
I think Im nearly ready.I hope I am.

If you are coming to the convention and you have some pictures of any sort of military equipment on wagons
in yards or in trains can you please bring them along.

AUSCISION VFX/ABFX PROJECT

I ended up in South Australia over the Easter period and at Tailem Bend yard they have a few wagons on display one of which would suit a scratch building job on the Auscision VFX/ABFX 75' wagons.
The wagon was converted from a ABFX as part of a display train that toured the state in1986 as the Jubilee Trade Train for the states 150th celebrations .
As used the wagon was loaded with Mitsubishi Motors products for display along with 7 converted CD/AVCY baggage cars as part of the train
Further pictures of the wagon loaded and unloaded and also the difference in the colour schemes from then to now ,can be found in an article in the AMRM June 87 issue 144.

TAILEM BEND

MILITARY SPECIAL

Just happened to be in the right place at the right time .And managed to capture a Military Special on its way through the BOLIVIA country side.First across Sunnyside Bridge then a bit of a scramble to one of the embankments around the curves under Bluff Rock.And a double whammy, being lucky enough to capture

one of the leased SAR 830,s in this ALCO triple header.

Elements of the Armoured Infantry as well as the Engineers have there vehicles on board with there final destination the transshipping sidings of Wallangarra for reloading onto the narrow gauge QR system and further travel to take part in Exercises  being held in the far northern inland areas of Queensland.

If I'm lucky enough i might catch them again on their return journey !

For anyone who has DCC Sound equipped Locos and has become accustom to this. I must apologize profusely for the lack of sound.Best i can suggest is for you to make the appropriate noises in your mind and touch your horn at a suitable time.

NEWS FLASH

Well you know when you have been working on something that seems like forever and it eventually all comes together.
It happened this weekend.Through the week the castings for the BME , BEX wagon arrived .And as i have been working on this model for a long time and really needing it to finish an article., I put a couple together .
I couldn't control myself .
Although the tie rails were a bit fiddly,the rest was dead easy.Being only 2 parts the deck and underframe and with all the underfloor detail hidden by the large outside side sill frame .It only needs a few levers and steps to finish it.
The decals haven't been done,or  the original deck style yet .But as the first model master made by me it came out really well.
And if I didn't tell someone id probably explode.!

So what would do you do with a BEX i hear you say.You put a Leopard on it of course.

Or a Centurion if you had a decent one .

More about all this latter !

LANG ST OVERBRIDGE

Well theres much excitement and chatter about the newly released  wooden over bridge  bridge kit from Harlow Graphics.

Great work guys but probably 15 years to late for me !
And as a bit of a spooky coincidence ,the Lang st road over bridge is being rebuilt .
Lange street , Glen Innes that is.

The bridge before work started on the 16-3-13 which was fitted with a pre cast panel on the roadway last time it was rebuilt .Which apparently makes a lot of noise if you live close by.

                        You may notice in this shot that the roadway is actually at an angle to the piers

This work wont cause much disruption to train services as apparently we don't deserve any to start with !

NOTICE :
TO ALLOW CHANGE OF SUBJECT .

When you watch the news and theres some idiot from the city complaining about his train being late and how upsetting this is for him ,It makes one wonder if these fools who want to live in a rat hole in the city should have the right to bitch about there train service being late because at least you HAVE ONE, us bush wackers would be happy to have a train service even if the thing was 3  F@%KEN hours late we would still appreciate it when it showed up .
So either move or shut the F@^K up.

I feel a little bit better now having said that.

Meanwhile back at the bridge.

And just by chance your interpret reporter was on the scene to capture some never before scenes of the deconstruction of the bridge which help show the other style of piers which would work for this bridge which are brick, I kid you not Brick !
I think Tenterfield may also have this same style of brick piers ?

The new road deck will be added to the heritage listed piers as work progress so when this happens I will add the shots to show what the new structure looks like.
